Simply put, most household waste can be placed in a skip. If you have an accumulation of recyclable materials that are too much to fit in your usual recycling bins, they can be disposed of in a skip – such as plastic, paper, cardboard, and metal. Garden waste generated as a result of a yard clean-up or a garden restoration, such as uncontaminated soil, leaves and branches, is also accepted.

You might need a permit if you want to place the skip on public roads or pavements. In this case, you’ll need to get a permit from your local authority – the process is quite simple and straightforward – just contact your local council to find out more.
